Wentworth Club is one of the world’s finest private members Golf and Country Clubs, famous for its outstanding three Championship golf courses, in addition to a luxury Tennis & Health Club. The Club is surrounded and entwined within the Wentworth Estate, one of the most prestigious private estates in the London suburbs where many of the world’s premier golfers have their home.
The Tennis & Health Club Manager will oversee the daily operations and organisation, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in workflow and processes. Focussing on providing luxury service to our Members. The Tennis & Health Club Manager will lead, direct, and manage each division collaborating closely with the operational teams (Fitness Centre, Spa, Tennis, Pool) to ensure the goals and objective are met.
Key Areas of Activity
- Understands the Club’s core values and overall culture of the business, leading by example and holding all employees accountable whilst upholding the Club vision and standards.
- Operational efficiency – measure key performance indicators. Oversee the delivery of products and services to ensure they meet the expectations of our Members.
- Streamline and optimise operational procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs Analyse key operational metrics to assess performance and seek areas of improvement.
- Lead, manage and motivate operational teams to meet set objectives and targets.
- Assist in recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to develop a high-performing operational team. Foster a positive working environment, promoting open communication and encouraging feedback.
- Assist operational departments stay within the allocated budget.
- Assist in setting strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
- To assist the Head Tennis Professional to ensure the Tennis Programmes are running smoothly catering to Members and meeting Club standards. Court bookings, coaching sessions are tracked and entered through Club booking system.
- To assist the Gym Manager to ensure the Fitness Centre (Gym and Studio) are running smoothly including delivery of PT sessions/packages, studio timetables. PT sessions are entered through the Club booking system. Track studio usage.
- To assist the Spa Manager ensuring the Spa is running smoothly delivering treatments and products in line with Membership requirements and market trends.
- To assist the Café Manager in the smooth running of the food and beverage facilities within the Tennis & Health Club..
- To ensure all statutory requirements are met especially concerning Health and Safety legislation for both employees and Members.
- To ensure all systems and procedures are followed in line with Club standards.
- To ensure all equipment and services are properly maintained and serviced.
- Attends weekly management meetings to present Club’s performance and overview of key activities.
- To create an environment that promotes good employee morale and encourages the team to have a high level of commitment
- Complete regular 1 to 1 performance reviews as required.
- Manage individual employee performance management issues (absence, timekeeping, poor performance).
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Building positive Member relations, must demonstrate expertise in creating and nurturing relationships with all stakeholders.
- Good business acumen
- Experience in managing a fitness and wellness facility (ideally in a luxury establishment)
- Minimum 2 years experience in management
- Ideally degree educated or relevant work experience.
- Ability to control payroll costs and expenditures.
- Ability to plan and organise the work as necessary.
- Ability to prevent and resolve Member or employee conflict.
- Decision Making – identifies and understands issues and opportunities, using data from different sources to conclude.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from Members or within the Club community and deliver messages clearly and concisely.
